Network and Systems Support Analyst

Are you an experienced Network and Systems Support Analyst ? Enjoy working with both types of infrastructure in a challenging and friendly working environment? Our client, a global retail leader with operations in the UK, USA and Europe is currently looking for an outgoing Technical Analyst to support their Networks and Systems in their Berkshire HQ.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing company that is a market leader in their sector.

In this varied position you would:

*Support to 2nd/3rd Line level an extensive infrastructure spanning five countries
*Be involved in troubleshooting and hands-on problem solving on Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, a vast Network infrastructure and a wide variety of applications.
*Contribute to discussions about new ideas and technologies.
*Travel occasionally on-site for UK and Europe based problem-solving.

Technical Requirements and experience /skills required :

*Windows Operating Systems experience.
*Active Directory/Exchange.
*Microsoft Exchange.
*Citrix.
*Deployment of Microsoft office.
*SQL Server.
*Back-up systems , similar to ArcServe or Tivoli Storage Manager.
*Cisco Router and Switches configuaration.
*LAN/WAN technologies.
*Thin client management and deployment
*VMWare.
*System Centre Configuration Manager.
*Automation of manual IT tasks.

Beneficial but not essential Technical skills/experience :

*Zebra Wing 5 or similar OS.
*Cisco Telephony.
*IT Security and compliance knowledge.
*Video conferencing systems experience.
*Sophos Anti-Virus
*KVS Enterprise Vault.
*Experience supporting time and attendance systems software.
*An understanding of Point of Retail Systems ( POS /EPOS)
*Fluent Spanish or German would be advantageous (but not essential) in addition to fluent English due to the regional support activities for other European branches.

Abilities and character

For this position the successful candidate will have strong problem solving abilities with experience working in a fast-paced environment, prioritising a busy workload whilst meeting deadlines. You should have a flexible approach and adaptability to meet the ever-changing requirements of the working environment. If you enjoy mentoring more junior analysts and engineers this is a big plus !

This position is ideal for an analyst with solid IT skills but also an outgoing, friendly, sociable personality as the working environment involves extensive team-work and collaborative problem solving as well as independent case work.

You will need to be able to work on-call, so some flexibility with working hours is required.
