Our client, a leading Financial technologies and cash management solutions provider, is currently looking for a Senior Software Support Engineer who can be based in their Portuguese office near Lisbon or their UK office near Manchester and will be responsible for remote 3rd Line escalated support for their and software solutions for an international client base.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced software support engineer possessing strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to join a leading global financial technologies company, continually expanding globally.
Ideal candidates should ideally have experience supporting applications in an international retail or retail related environment with day to day key responsibilities included below :
*Handling 3rd line support issues that have been escalated on a global basis.
*Recreating minor remote issues to allow them to be verified and tested in-house and then be solved in region.
*In-depth analysis and troubleshooting as well as root-cause analysis.
*Supporting pre-sales activities on an occasional basis
*Routine documentation , configuration, installation or demonstration skills.
*Able to develop skills, after training , to become a Subject Matter Expert ( SME) on the product range.
*Preparing training information for use by regional trainers and other support engineers.
*Providing other support related activities.
Experience and qualifications
*Experience of providing support to international clients within an international support team environment.
*Application /Software support experience ideally on Retail, Financial, EPOS/POS, type software.
*Excellent skills in Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
*Strong skills working with SQL Server.
*Any development knowledge in Java , J2EE, C , .NET is desirable but not essential.
*Familiarity with ITIL
*Strong numerical skills to present complex data in an understandable way.
*Highly motivated, pro-active, keen to learn attitude.
*If based in Portugal fluent English and Portuguese are required. If in the UK , fluent English is required.
*Experience of configuration and deployment of Terminal Server, Citrix, Xen Apps Server is desirable.
