Software Engineer- C#.NET

Euro London Appointments , on behalf of our client, a renowned and innovation focused scientific instrumentation innovator, is currently looking for talented C#.NET Software Engineers who would like to develop cutting-edge software that works with their scientific instrumentation.

This is a fantastic opportunity in a welcoming team for an intermediate level/experienced developer with a passion for software development and a strong interest or experience in developing software for the industrial, scientific or manufacturing sectors.

Responsibilities :

*Developing reliable, robust and maintainable software enabling the functionality of scientific instruments that our client provides.
*Taking on the role of Team Leader when required to lead development projects 9 for a more experienced candidate).
*Ensuring that design follows established codes of practice and product development lifecycle methodologies (ISO9000 , TickIt Plus standards)
*Solving product problems arising from the software if required.
*Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest software design and development practices applicable to our client's products.
*Assisting in training on the software for internal and external personnel.
*Contributing to Software development standards and policies.

Qualifications, Skills and experience required :

*A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar with a strong course focus on Software Development.
*At least 2 years' professional experience in Web and /or Windows Desktop software development in C#.NET framework (essential. As well as a desire to continue your career in Desktop development.
*Previous experience designing and developing software for Industrial, Scientific or Manufacturing sectors is highly advantageous.

*Agile methodologies experience especially Scrum is essential with knowledge of at least some of the following skills or methodologies experience : Unit Testing, Test driven development knowledge (TDD) Microsoft Team Foundation server (TFS), Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) , UI.

*Software design principles,ISO9000 and TickIt/TickIT plus Standards experience would be very beneficial.
*Strong communications skills in English and teamwork abilities are essential for collaboration with diverse internal teams ( Technical Support, Testing Engineers, Instrumentation Engineers) as well as clients.
*Strong teamwork skills.
*Excellent adaptation abilities and thrives on working on the latest cutting-edge development projects.

As part of the European Consultancy team , the Entry-level Software Training Consultant plays a vital role within the organization, providing remote and on-site training and software installations across the UK and through the EMEA region. With a pro-active and analytical approach as well as developed communications skills to work with clients possessing different levels of technical understanding. Main responsibilities *Carrying out on-site training on our client's main end-user applications enabling clients to get maximum Return on Investment from the systems in a timely and efficient manner. This is often carried out in the form of remote webinars and on-site training workshops. *Being involved in on-site and off-site installation work for software programs. *Performing testing of new Fleet Management software. *Setting up new software and web based systems. *Carrying out test downloads for new and existing vehicles ( ranging from HGVs to coaches,vans,cars and emergency services vehicles) in order to verify correct functioning. *Maintaining up to date customer records on the CRM system. *Producing and maintaining documentation. *Carrying out client reporting with preparation of monthly reports using Agility or Insight. *Developing suitable tests for training client delegates in workshops. *Issuing training certificates and carrying out other ad-hoc duties as required. Key skills and requirements *Excellent customer service and customer facing skills, developed in at least one internship/professional position including customer on-site software/hardware/web applications training and workshops. *The ability to communicate with clients possessing all levels of technical understanding , in this case this can range from drivers through to internal IT technicians and executive level VPs. *Attention to detail and a flexible approach to problem solving- prior experience in technical support on software and web solutions is a big benefit for this. *Developed PC skills particularly with MS Windows, MS Office, MS Excel. Working knowledge of SQL querying is beneficial. *Experience with Networking (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN ) and networking protocols is beneficial. * Experience in client reporting with preparation of monthly reports using Agility or Insight is beneficial *Highly motivated with an enthusiasm for ensuring customer success and ultimately delivering a solution that will improve driver and road-user safety. *Analytical and able absorb often complex information regarding customer requirements and training needs to produce effective solutions and workshops. *A self-motivated , flexible attitude *Willingness to travel regularly mainly within the UK but also occasionally to other countries in the EMEA region. Travel is usually one 2 days on site maximum with one overnight stay per on-site visit. *A Full driving license. *An additional European language ( French or Spanish)is a significant advantage and our client has an international team.
