Electrical Project Manager

My client is a leading principal contractor and installer of Secure Data Centres Infrastructure for Leading Defence and Financial Institutions. Their core competencies cover all aspects of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E), including Data Centre Infrastructure installation. They are expanding their footprint in Germany and are looking for an experienced candidate to join their team as an Electrical Project Manager.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure delegated workloads are carried out on time and with acceptable levels of quality.
  • Ensure all work is in accordance with local codes and manage any relevant TUV acceptance procedures
  • Liaise with the H&S manager to ensure safe working practices are complied.
  • Monitor progress against Construction and Commissioning Programmes and report to Project Director.
  • Carry out independent snagging of installations after senior site manager has inspected.
  • Supervise and manage Electrical installation and coordination with other system Project Managers.
  • Manage Foreman/Senior Forman/Senior site & Package managers and delegate tasks and workload accordingly.
  • Hold daily coordination meetings with Foreman/Senior Forman/Senior site managers.
  • Attend weekly site progress meetings.
  • Ensure all required materials are ordered as required and manage procurement schedules in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Carry out any other works as directed in addition to those already defined in line with the ability and experience of the Electrical Project Manager.

Key Requirements

  • Min 7 years of relevant experience in electrical project management
  • Strong background in HV/MV/LV knowledge
  • Fluent in German is a MUST
  • Critical Environment work experience is a MUST
  • Experience of working with Live data Centers is a plus!
  • Knowledge of office fits outs is a plus!
  • Strong Microsoft Project skills
  • Familiar with AutoCAD/Revit etc

Responsibilities :

*To identify and understand application areas for our client's laser diffraction systems and analytical imaging technology.
* To provide feedback on those applications into the laser diffraction/analytical imaging program of customers' needs and requirements that result from the various customer interactions and encountered problems;
* To provide sales support by visiting sales outlets and customers, both in the UK and overseas as required and to diligently document and circulate reports on such visits;
* Creating product support material (application notes, technical notes, Brainsharks, WebEx, articles, blogs, FAQ's and material for use on the Web Site) to improve the communication to the market and our client's wider organization in support of diffraction products business objectives;
* To prepare and provide lectures, publish scientific papers and present seminars at an advanced level to our subsidiaries, agents, distributors, direct sales team and the end-users;
*Liaison with 3rd party suppliers in order to resolve customer applications to support sales success.
*To help with the alpha and beta testing of hardware and software
*To develop and provide specialist training, advice and guidance to customers and sales organisations on particle characterization relating to the best use of our client's laser diffraction products.
* To assist the solving of technical problems and issues with our customers and products;
* To work closely with the relevant product managers and territory sales specialists to ensure they are aware of latest applications and product/software capabilities;
* To work in close liaison with the Applications Supervisor and relevant Applications Specialists to ensure that analysis of laser diffraction samples are carried out in a timely fashion.

Entry Qualifications

* A Post Doctorate with a relevant physical science degree (Chemistry , Materials Sciences or Physics for example) and/or demonstrable practical experience in the field of particle characterization. Experience in laser diffraction and/or image analysis is desirable.

Skills & Experience

* A proven ability at problem solving; with strong logical and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication skills coupled with an ability to instil confidence in the receiver. If you enjoy communicating as much as researching problems this could be the opportunity for you !
* Good listening skills and the ability to translate what a customer says into what they need;
* A proven ability to coherently write and present scientific papers as well as being able to explain complex subjects into a form acceptable to different levels of stakeholders.
*Able to travel up to one week a month for UK and international pre and post sales product range support.

Knowledge

* A requirement to be computer literate with Microsoft Office software;
* A knowledge of a programming language such as BASIC would be an advantage;
* Knowledge or experience of any of the following application areas of the particle characterisation market would be an advantage; Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Advanced Materials, Minerals, Metals and Mining.
*Any second language in addition to English is beneficial but not essential.

Our client is offering the opportunity for a junior 1st Line Applications Support Analyst to join their expanding support team based in the town of Swindon in Wiltshire. Responsibilities include :


*Providing 1st and 2nd Line Technical Support on specialist SaaS-based Applications, using any basic knowledge of SQL and Windows to support to our client's customers as well as internal teams, ensuring a rapid response time to the end-user.

*Acting as the technical liaison between the Support Team, the Sales Team and the Design Team.

*Occasionally providing on-site support in the UK and wider Europe and technical product training for customers in order to efficiently resolve technical issues.

*Performing testing and validation of new software releases, providing technical feedback to the design authority as required.

*Working with Network and Support departments internationally to troubleshoot problems including servers and web servers.

Software Test Engineer

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Test Engineer , with at least one significant experience in software testing, to join a welcoming team with a passion for ensuring that vital analytical software for the industrial, scientific and manufacturing sectors is robust and reliable.

Responsibilities

*To provide software and embedded software test specifications, test cases and automation necessary to provide reliable and robust software.
*To work closely with the software developers in an integrated team to participate in Agile methods, reviews and retrospectives. You will be estimating tasks, writing the test schedules, automating new functional test cases and running automated regression tests.
*Participating in the development of tests as part of a multi-disciplinary project team and to work within project timescales.
*Increasing domain knowledge and understanding of our client's products with an aim of improving test effectiveness.

Aims :

*Reliable and robust software production.
*Automatic test suites for regression testing.
*Test scripts capable of being validated.

Skills and experience required

*Bachelors degree qualified in Computing, Computer Engineering, Sciences or a similar discipline.
*Must have an interest in the Sciences and developing technologies for scientific research ( no previous sectorial experience required )
*ISTQB qualification is advantageous.
*Experience in at least one similar role ideally in the Industrial, Manufacturing or Scientific software sector.
*Manual and Automated test development experience
*Windows programming experience for test development in either C#, Java, Python, Visual Basic, C using Object Oriented Programming methodologies , experience in Desktop software testing is ideal.
*Practical knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies , ISO9000 and TickIt is highly advantageous
*Experience working the Team Foundation Server (TFS) and /or Test Manager/ Visual Studio.
*Strong communications/interpersonal skills for liaison with other team members, members of the Software Development (who you would be working alongside) and customer support teams.
*Adaptability to different types of software and applications.
*Self-starter attitude with excellent time management skills.
*Strong problem solving and analysis abilities.

My client, a global player in web based trading technology is looking for a Software Test / Automation Engineer to join their dynamic team.
 
As a critical member of their QA Division, you will accelerate the delivery and improve the quality of their platform. You will be responsible for designing and implementing an automation framework for functional and non-functional test requirements. You will working closely with development and testing teams to create test suites, build / maintain test harnesses and contribute to various quality assurance and testing initiatives.
 
This role reports directly to the Head of IT-Quality & Services.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement automated solution for various testing requirements of the trading platform
  • Play a key role in expanding existing automation capability for increased test coverage
  • Participate in manual test creation / execution as and when required
  • Review and improve existing automation approach
  • Create and maintain test artefacts for regression testing and automation
  • Report test results periodically and provide clarity and transparency in all the deliverables
  • Improve the overall platform quality
  • Collaborate closely with software development, support, project management and business teams
Key Requirements:
  • At least 3years of experience in Java development or building automation frameworks in Java is mandatory
  • CORE JAVA experience is a MUST!
  • Graduate with good, relevant business or technical degree or similar level
  • Preferable experience / knowledge in one of the financial derivatives domains
  • Hands on experience with TestNG or JUnit
  • Ability to perform white-box testing in a Java environment
