Relationship Manager

Our client is an international, data-driven payments consultancy working together with companies and advising and supporting them on how to improve their payment arrangements and how to reduce costs. Due to growth in the company, they are now expanding and recruiting for a Relationship Manager DACH based in their Düsseldorf office.

Your new duties and responsibilities

As the new Relationship Manager, you will be working with the existing client base within the DACH region. After a period of training and onboarding, you will manage a client portfolio of ca. 10-15 clients. It will be your responsibility to grow these accounts and to further develop business and get new projects onboard within these key clients.

In this role you will work closely together with the project delivery team, who analyse and review the clients’ data and optimise their payment arrangements. You will be part of the projects and lead them from successful sale through to completion. 

Other day-to-day duties will include:

  • Develop new business opportunities within the existing client base
  • Be the main point of contact for existing clients and manage their projects from start to finish
  • Develop and cultivate the relationships within your key clients
  • Work closely together with the analysts and project delivery team
  • Prepare presentations and present the project findings to the client
  • Be an efficient expert on the company’s products and services
  • Continues market- and competitor research

Your profile

As the new Relationship Manager, you should have a similar type of experience in a consultant, key account management, relationship management or project management role.

You do not have to come from a payments background, but any knowledge within economics or finance is of advantage. Also, if you have experience working with merchants and retailers in the past, that is a bonus.

The ideal candidate should also have the following qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent level of studies
  • Experience working towards C-Level executives
  • Prior experience in a similar role within consultancy key account management, relationship management or project management
  • Experience and/ or knowledge within finance or economics is of advantage, but not necessary
  • Excellent customer relations, verbal and written communications skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Prior project management experience
  • Fluent German and very good English skills
