Junior Software Engineer

*Taking ownership of a service from design to deployment
*Taking into account scaling, cost and performance considerations when designing a service.
*Staying up to date developments and best practices within the technologies our client uses.
*Working with Customer Support, Sales and Marketing and Account Management to respond to customer impacting issues
*Working alongside other teams, including remote-based, to develop cross-project solutions and drive best practices across the organization

Essential skills and requirements

*At least 2 years' experience developing in Java or Python or , ideally, Golang (Go) as a Software Engineer.
*Experience in deploying software to cloud services.
*Full lifecycle software development experience from design to deployment.
*Articulate , fluent communicator in English able to interact cross-functionally with other teams within the company.
*A team-worker personality who enjoys working in small-medium sized teams within larger organizations.
*A fantastic attitude, as a digital native you enjoy working with the latest technologies and experimenting with new languages and frameworks. You enjoy development as a hobby and lifestyle as much as a job.

Nice to haves

*Experience in Golang in production ( but can be taught if you have an interest)
*Experience in deploying containerized software.
*CDNs experience is advantageous.
*Experience working in a DevOps environment is beneficial.
*Any understanding of HTTP.
*Experience working with best practices and testing with TDD and BDD.
*Any experience working with video streaming technologies.
