Software Engineer

If so, Euro London may have a fantastic Software Engineer opportunity for you with our client, a leading provider of online and cloud video technologies used by some of the world's largest media companies and serving over a billion video streams every month.

Working within a small team for a renowned company you'll have a high degree of autonomy but also the chance to learn and improve new skills in a flexible working environment that encourages learning and career progression.


*Taking ownership of a service from design to deployment
*Taking into account scaling, cost and performance considerations when designing a service.
*Staying up to date with developments and best practices within the technologies our client uses.
*Working with Customer Support, Sales and Marketing and Account Management to respond to customer impacting issues
*Working alongside other teams, including remote-based, to develop cross-project solutions and drive best practices across the organization.

Essential skills and requirements

*At least 2 years' experience developing in Java or Python or , ideally, Golang (Go) as a Software Engineer.
*Experience in deploying software to Cloud services.
*Experience working with best practices and testing with TDD and BDD.
*Good understanding of HTTP.
*Full lifecycle software development experience from design to deployment.
*Articulate , fluent communicator in English able to interact cross-functionally with other teams within the company.
*A team-worker personality who enjoys working in small-medium sized teams within larger oganizations.

Nice to haves

*Experience in Golang in production ( but can be taught if you have an interest)
*Experience in deploying containerized software.
*CDNs experience.
*Any experience working with video streaming technologies such as HLS/MPEG DASH/ Microsoft Smooth Streaming is a big advantage.
*Understanding of H.264 and AAC.
*Understanding of video formats , specifically MP4 and fMP4/ISOBMFF and MPEG TS.
*Knowledge of DRM technologies , specifically Widevine, Modular, Playready and Fairplay.
-Experience working with AWS technologies.
