Financial Analyst - French speaking

An independent hotel owner and operator is expanding into Europe and expects to triple in size over the next 10 years.
Very entrepreneurial in nature they are looking for a Financial Analyst to support and strengthen their group finance department.

Job Description
The Financial Analyst, based in London and reporting into the Group Financial and Legal Controller, will hold the following responsibilities:
Assist with preparation of the monthly and quarterly group reporting
Assist with preparation of treasury and cash management
Review/prepare written monthly variances and trend analysis and communicate to management
Review/prepare financial and operational analysis of the monthly financial results. Work with the operational teams to understand the drivers causing the budget versus actual variances and, when necessary, recommend corrective actions
Make accounting recommendations as necessary
In particular, involvement in the financial management of the UK-based company, in liaison with external accountants:
-Preparation of some accounting documents (including travel expenses and management fee invoices)
- Review of journal entries and quarterly reporting
-Budget and cash flow forecast
-Tax declarations
Support audit activities as needed or requested
Assist operational and financial teams in development of plans and forecasts
Assist with the creation of documentation to ensure consistent application and/or interpretation of process or policies
Assist with the development of internal control
Support the acquisition process to facilitate the integration of financial and accounting data, and detect potential issues in a timely manner
One-off financial analysis missions
Ad-hoc headquarters tasks: office management, pension plan, insurances…

The Successful Applicant:
You will have the following exposure:
Fluency in French to a native level essential (non-French speaking profiles will not be considered); fluency in English required
Previous audit or accounting experience (ideally from Big Four or equivalent)
Good analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Organisation and time management skills
Highly-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills
Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment and willing to perform any other non-specific job related duties as requested.
Proficient PC Skills (Word, Excel)

To try and balance this indulgence, I go to the gym and swim (although not as much as I should) and I enjoy playing tennis when Wimbledon fortnight is upon us.

  • The German speaking Events Associate is involved in the planning, development, logistics, execution and oversight of events and conferences hosted and/or attended by the Financial Adviser Services team. Working for the Events Team, you will support the organisation of all aspects of events or programs in both internal and external locations. Tasks will include, but are not limited to, long range planning, site selection, coordination, and superb execution with the goal of exceeding client expectations, deepening client loyalty and driving new business.
