Finnish or German speaking Games Linguist

My client is a home grown technical services specialist providing services for key players in the Games Industry. Their story started 20 years ago as a small local studio, and now covers 50 studios servicing 23 locations across 4 different continents. You will be part of a team focusing on community and game content for a leader in game publishing.

You'll be part of a 200 strong team based in their Dublin HQ, and if you think you'd be a good fit for this role, then read on:

REQUIREMENTS TO LEVEL UP:
*Fluent to native level in either Finnish or German - this is essential as you will be predominantly translating into these languages
*Keen gamer with extensive knowledge of the industry
*Top notch written and spoke skills in English and Finnish/German
*Ability to collaborate with team members to achieve goals ahead of set deadlines
*Ability to self motivate and keep up in a fast-paced environment


DAILY MISSIONS:
*Translation and nuanced adaptation of texts used for player support,
*Running in-game QA tests
*Overseeing and implementing all linguistic updates to the assigned translations and maintaining high levels of quality across the board
*Working with the team to improve efficiency and quality of translated material
*Liaising with linguists in all other language groups to achieve quality objectives

About me: I’ve always wanted a career that centered around working with people and one that presented me with new challenges every single day. Learning a language is so much more than the words on a page because you also find out a lot about the culture attached to it. I started studying Spanish at school and enjoyed it immensely from the offset, involving myself in two Spanish drama productions and choosing to continue learning it until the end of Sixth form. Having family and friends based in Italy allows me to travel there regularly, taking full advantage of the wonderful cuisine every time I go!

I would say that my  main hobby is lacrosse. Training/competing still occupies a lot of my spare time.

If I were a famous person, I would be: Adele – her voice is amazing and she’s so down to earth
