Following our Q1 update, here's a quick look at what we've been seeing across Q2 from the UK office.
Permanent hiring trends (UK & Europe)
- No surprises here! German remains the dominant language across our network, with demand spanning Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Operations and Business Support roles.
- Customer Success and Account Management hiring continues to grow as businesses focus on client retention, service delivery and revenue growth.
- Continued demand for multilingual Customer Service and Operations professionals across the UK regions, particularly for German, Dutch, Czech and Portuguese speakers.
- Executive support hiring remains busy, with increased demand for PAs, Executive Assistants and Office Managers across London and parts of mainland Europe.
- Technology, SaaS and Professional Services businesses continue to invest in commercial and support functions despite wider economic uncertainty.
- The employers securing the best talent are still the ones moving quickly. Lengthy interview processes and unrealistic language requirements continue to be the biggest obstacles to successful hiring.
Temporary hiring trends
- Market Research, Translation and Gaming projects remained some of our busiest temporary recruitment areas throughout Q2, following the trends we saw in Q1.
- Demand for multilingual administrators and project support staff has increased as businesses look for flexible resourcing solutions, with many already planning for staff shortages over the summer months.
- German continues to lead language demand, with strong demand also coming through for Spanish, Italian and Nordic language speakers. It's great to see a return in demand for Southern European languages.
- Hybrid and remote roles continue to attract the strongest temporary talent, particularly within research, customer support and project-based work.
Looking ahead to Q3
While some businesses remain cautious, we're continuing to see investment in customer-facing, operational and multilingual support roles. Organisations with approved budgets are moving quickly to secure talent ahead of the traditional autumn hiring rush, particularly where German-speaking candidates are concerned.
